Who am i?

It's not a secret, I just really wanted to use that iconic phrase somewhere, so I have. I'm Zara, and I've had many roles in my life. Everything from a bacon butty and tea maker in an industrial estate, to a record label owner and head of marketing. 

do shit

I am a thinker-doer. I didn't know that for a long time. We are trained to say 'can-do attitude' and 'great initiative'. But essentially it means fuck all, unless you finally work out if you are a thinker-doer or not. Some people think very well, other people do very well, and some people do both (or neither). I do shit, after thinking up the shit to do. 

learn stuff

Two things, I think, are true. 1) is that you don't know what you don't know, so you need to actively plug the gaps. 2) If you (think) you are the smartest person in the room, you're in the wrong room (or you are arrogant enough to assume you're the smartest). 

I won't teach you a damn thing, not on purpose. 

I f*ckin' love it

I do. I love everything about what I do. I love the 9 pm worry because a metric tanked. I also love the typo in the email and the newsletter that went out 12 hours early without a link. I love watching metrics soar, revenue increase, and even the mixed bag of user feedback. I, hand on heart, love every ugly-beautiful moment. 

I don't like people

But if I can find a way to connect, I'll do it. I want to know the demographics, metrics, KPIs, and all that buzzstuff. But what really matters is talking to people, being conversational, understanding who, what, where, but really why. You'll notice the words here aren't punctuation perfect, and can feel janky. It is with intention, 'cause it is me.
